Vermicomposting Presentations

Speaking and Demonstrations

I give vermicomposting lectures and presentations ranging from an introduction to vermicomposting and getting started to troubleshooting your worm bin.

I can also include a demonstrations on making your own inexpensive worm bin and brewing worm compost tea.

Summer 2011 Scarborough Farmers' Market 9:00am-noon behind Scarborough Town Hall (259 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough). Contact me to meet you there to pickup worms, bins, or worm compost tea kits. Also, I can have brewed worm tea for pickup-- I need 2 days notice for brewed tea. (FMI contact me).

September 17, 2011 Demonstration at Beflast Coop in Belfast, Maine. I will be at the Belfast Coop (123 High Street w Belfast, ME 04915) for a vermicomposting workshop at (tentaitvely) 1PM (FMI contact me).

September 23-25, 2011 Common Ground Country Fair ) in Unity Maine. I will be in the Farm & Homestead area (near the Pine gate) and giving demonstrations Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 1PM at my booth (FMI contact me).

Resources for Educators

The following information is provided for teachers. Vermicomposting is a great project for the classroom. Kids learn about the natural cycle and where soil comes from as well as how they can reduce their contribution to the waste stream. I have reviewed some of the information available and selected a few that I think look good.
